Frequently Asked Questions

Is Elementals Origins really free to play?

Yes. The full game runs free in your browser — the campaign, VS-AI duels, private online PvP, deckbuilding, your collection, and the leaderboard. No purchase, no download, no account required to start playing.

What's the catch? Is this pay-to-win or a crypto cash-grab?

No catch. The game is buy-once / earn-every-card with no pay-to-win mechanics, and there is currently no real money involved anywhere. The web3 layer is a free, optional experiment running on a test network — you can ignore it entirely and play the whole game without ever touching it.

Do I need crypto, a wallet, or any tokens to play?

No. The core game needs nothing but a browser. The optional web3 features let you sign in with your Google account (no wallet needed) or a Slush wallet if you prefer, and gas fees are sponsored by us — so you never need to buy, hold, or spend any crypto.

What is Sui testnet, and why does that matter?

Sui is a blockchain; testnet is its sandbox network used for development and testing. It uses valueless test tokens, not real money. Everything web3 in Elementals Origins lives on Sui testnet today — so any NFTs or balances you see are experimental and carry no monetary value. We have not launched on mainnet.

Are NFTs required to play, or do they give an advantage?

Neither. NFTs are completely optional and give zero gameplay advantage. Your playable 30+30 starter decks stay off-chain. Right now the only on-chain item is a single free "welcome" card NFT you can claim — a collectible badge of ownership, not something you battle with. The planned model is "play with a copy, own the NFT": matches never touch the chain.

How do I claim the free welcome NFT?

On the claim page, sign in with Google or Slush and click claim — we mint one free welcome card NFT to you and pay the gas. Heads up: this login isn't wired into the game itself yet, so for now it's a standalone page separate from playing.

What is $AIRO?

$AIRO is the project's planned reward token. It is not for sale and has no real-world value today — on testnet it's purely experimental. The future design uses it as a reward-only currency and a "forge fee" to optionally turn an earned card into a tradeable NFT. None of that is live yet; it's on the roadmap.

Can I play against other people?

Yes. Private online PvP is live today — create or join a room by code and duel a friend directly. (Public matchmaking and ranked play are planned for later.)

Does it work on mobile?

There's a mobile-friendly build with a scale-to-fit board, touch controls, and audio tuned for phones. The smoothest experience is still desktop; mobile polish is ongoing.

When is mainnet / when can I actually own and trade cards?

No date yet — and we're being upfront about that. Today everything is on testnet with no real money. Forging cards into tradeable NFTs, a Kiosk-based marketplace, and any mainnet launch are all planned future phases that depend on server-authoritative anti-cheat landing first. We'll announce timelines when they're real.
